The Swimming Trust was founded in 1996 by a charitable donation. In 2005 by bequest of the late Joyce Cooper, a separate fund was set up to support athletes expense of sending competitors to Olympiad. The Organisation is now long established as a charitable trust and registered with the Charity Commission, registration no: 1058338.
The Swimming Trust has evolved since its early conception, and has supported many individuals in order to develop their particular talent. More recently, consultation highlighted the need for wider activity. In response, the Swimming Trust embarked on a major programme of capacity building to add to its existing framework. An enhanced partnership with the asa has resulted in a much broader remit in terms of both beneficiaries and supporters.
